As Franks is leaving the UK to travel to Holland to collect smuggled diamonds, he is told by a Miss Moneypenny undercover to report to passport control office. Bond then does a switch and takes his place.
He travels to meet Tiffany Case and convinces her that he is Peter Franks, with the help of the imitation fingerprints. When Bond hears from Q that Franks has escaped, he makes sure that Franks cannot contact Tiffany. The following fight scene between Bond and Franks in the small lift is expertly shot, with shades of the fight between Bond and Donald 'Red' Grant in From Russia With Love. Bond manages to kill Franks convincing Tiffany that he has just killed James Bond!

Peter Franks is a diamond smuggler hired by Tiffany Case to smuggle the stolen diamonds from Holland into America. Little is learnt about the character, as there are only two small scenes in which Peter Franks appears. §
