film information
This is Max Zorin’s main form of transportation seen in A View To A Kill in two sizes. The first airship, the largest out of two, is first seen when Zorin is holding a conference where he demands money from some businessmen for participation in operation Main Strike.
When one refuses, May Day escorts him out of the room; she then proceeds to instruct him to walk down some stairs. However when the man starts walking down the stairs, May Day presses a button, converting the stairs into a slippery slope sending the man plummeting from the airship into the sea below.
The second of Zorin’s Airships is a smaller version that is hidden within a building site hut. After boarding, the airship inflates, panels are lowered and the airship rises. Zorin, Scarpine and Dr. Carl Mortner use this as their means of escape from the Main Strike mine. Escaping from the floods inside the mine, Stacey Sutton is picked up by Zorin and taken aboard this airship. After Bond manages to get the better of Zorin atop the Golden Gate Bridge, it is the smaller ship that explodes, killing the remainder of Zorin’s men when Mortner fails to throw lit dynamite out of the airship. §
