Profile

This oversized oil tanker, the second largest in the world, provides a mobile base for the operations of Karl Stromberg. The Liparus features unusually shaped bow doors, this allows access into the tankers hidden interior featuring docking stations, landing platforms, a protective operations room and a large number of Stromberg's men armed with a vast array of weaponry.

The Liparus is key to Stromberg's plan to destroy the world, building a new better world underneath the sea. By using the Liparus to literally swallow one American and one Russian nuclear submarines, by forcing them to the surface with interference, Stromberg plans to destroy New York and Moscow using the nuclear missiles captured from the submarines.

With the assistance of the other submarine crews, Bond is able to gain entry to the secure control room and relay new orders to the submarines about to fire. This causes the submarines to target and destroy each other. §
