After leaving Dominic Greene's party, Bond and Camille Montes decide to take a closer look at what Greene is planning at his Tierra Project in the desert. Bond drives to an airfield where he makes a deal to use a DC-3. When Camille asks Bond how much did he pay, he smirks that the Spanish gentleman owner wanted her, but he left his Range Rover as collateral instead.
After checking out the site of Greene's desert, the DC-3 is attacked by a SIAI-Marchetti SF260 jet, called in when the DC-3 owner sells the pair out. Bond manages to perform some impressive low canyon flying, although the plane does get shot up pretty bad. However, after one of the engines catches fire, Bond uses this to his advantage. By decreasing airspeed and adjusting the flaps, he covers his pursuer in cloud of smoke. This allows him to set-up a trap which sees the jet crash as the pilot tries to manoeuvre his way out of trouble.
Before the plane dies completely, Bond and Camille jump out of the DC-3, with Bond trying to grab hold of Camille who has the only parachute. As the pair fall into one of the regions sinkholes, the (CGI) DC-3 is briefly seen crashing. §
