After escaping city hall with Stacey Sutton, Bond gives the chief of police his famous introduction when he is asked his name.

behind the scenes

When the mine is flooded, Bond and Mayday are seen making their way through the mine. In one scene May Day screams as a cable sparks above her head. This was actually a genuine scream; Grace Jones didn't know this was going to happen.

During pre-production at Pinewood Studios, the 007 stage burned to the ground. Since there were no other stages big enough to hold a James Bond film production of this scale, the 007 stage was rebuilt in just four months.

The set of the abandoned silver mine was created on the new 007 set. During the destruction of the mine it was flooded with over 1,000,000 gallons of water.

Prince Charles and Princess Diana attended the British premiere of A View To A Kill.

The long shots of Zorin’s airship approaching the Golden Gate Bridge were actually a Fuji airship.

A View To A Kill marked the last appearance of Lois Maxwell playing Moneypenny. Lois was the only person to have been present in every Bond since the first film, Dr. No, 23 years ago. §
