MI6 & Officials

While James Bond has enjoyed the girls, dealt with the villains and received help from his allies, the staff at MI6 importantly provide Bond with his mission objectives, intelligence and often life-saving equipment for his various assignments.

Who can forget the many flirtatious scenes with Bond and Miss Moneypenny, the briefings from M and the classic interactions with Q trying to describe his latest gadgets. From the classic Bernard Lee to the modern Judi Dench, through Lois Maxwell and Samantha Bond to the unforgettable Desmond Llewelyn, these actors and actresses past and present, have become truly iconic.

Away from these more established roles are the other officials. Sometimes these characters are part of the plot, present when Bond receives a briefing, or connected with the government in some way. Who can forget the other officials such as the changing loyalties of General Gogol and the rather superfluous but always unintentionally amusing Sir Frederick Gray!

Due to the nature of the characters concerned, the changing times have brought about changing relationships in the characters. Different actors and actresses have stepped into well-established roles bringing their own characteristics and personalities to the role they play. As long as there are villains to contend with, Bond will always be there to receive his latest assignment and equipment from the staff at MI6 and have contact with other officials. §
