Bond connections

It is literary James Bond who has a short stop over in The Ritz in Diamonds Are Forever. In true Bond style, agent 007 has a £900 room overlooking Green Park. Did he stay the week at this price? No, sadly this is the cost of the room per night - better start saving those pennies now!

History

The Ritz London opened its doors on May 24th 1906 on the Piccadilly site of the Walsingham House Hotel, formerly the Bath Hotel. This majestic hotel is the place to be seen with its impressive architecture and culture. Throughout its history The Ritz has seen English aristocracy, Charlie Chaplin, Churchill, King Alfonso of Spain plus many many more.

2005 saw the finish of a ten-year renovation plan that has once more brought The Ritz back into the limelight. In January 2002, The Ritz became the first hotel to receive a Royal Warrant for Banqueting and Catering services, awarded by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales.
