The Vienna Volksoper was opened in 1898, initally only as a venue for spoken drama. In 1903 the opera house expanded its scope to include other works and has become of the largest venues for operas in Vienna.
Peforming over one hundred different operas and events, there is surely something for everyone to enjoy. If perhaps your German isn't up to scratch a number of operas do have supertitles so you won't miss out on the event.

As well as allowing free public transport for 72 hours, the Vienna Card allows a 10% discount for all operas at the Volksoper.
