Valentin Zukovsky's walking stick was not purely for decoration. Hidden in the handle is a cocking mechanism and firing trigger for a one-shot gun contained within. After making it to where Elektra King plans to launch her submarine from, she shoots him. As she is about to wind the final turn on the torture chair to strangle Bond, Zukovsky has enough strength to use the gun. After wisely choosing how to use his one shot, he shoots one of Bond's metal leg braces rather than killing Elektra, allowing Bond to kill her and stop Renard. §
