In an attempt to draw less attention to James Bond, MI6 arranges to fake 007’s death. The funeral is held at sea with James Bond's body remaining at the bottom of the sea after it is dropped overboard in the funeral ceremony. Bond’s protective oxygen suit enables him to breath whilst he awaits divers from the nearby MI6 submarine to bring him aboard.
Bond uses this handy device to break the combination of Osato’s safe. As Bond turns the safe’s dial lights would illuminate on the device. Once Bond pressed these lights a number for the combination of the safe would appear. Bond however sets off the safe’s alarm when he opens the door, but manages to steal some papers before guards arrive.
Whilst Bond is travelling in Helga Brandt’s Cessna, she drops this small stun bomb after applying her lipstick to disorientate Bond momentarily. With Bond trapped in his seat by a wooden beam, Helga parachutes out the plane leaving it to plummet to the ground, with Bond only just managing to land the plane and escape before it explodes.
Whilst Bond is training to be a Ninja at Tiger Tanaka’s training school, he encounters a number of gadgets. Firstly a gun that fired jet-propelled cartridges that burst into flames upon hitting its target. Secondly, Tiger demonstrates to Bond a small cigarette than upon lighting fired a miniature rocket. This would be crucial later in the film whist held captive in Blofelds volcano. Bond asks if he can smoke, and fires the rocket at one of Blofelds technicians. He then springs into action and leaps over to the volcano crater controls. He fights off Blofelds men giving a chance for Tiger’s men to enter the volcano before armed guards stop him.
Whilst Bond is training to become a Ninja, he trains with one of Tigers Ninja's carrying a wooden pole. However the Ninja turns out to be infiltrator as at a click of a button he causes a metal spike to pop out as he tries to stab Bond with it. Bond manages to block the attacks and responds to the threat by killing the assassin using his own weapon.
