Originally controlled by a device resembling a suitcase, Gustav Graves orders Vladimir Popov to create a wearable suit that can be used to control Icarus instead. When Graves boards the Antonov, Vlad presents him with this suit that was capable of communicating with Icarus, and also pulsating a 100,000-volt current around the suit.
At the end of the film Bond is caught up in the electrical current when he battles Graves. Ironically it actually this electrical current that sends Graves flying into the Antonov's engines after hanging onto the outside. Luckily once Icarus has lost communication with the suit, the laser stops just in time. §
