Piton laser gun

This piton gun was a more advanced version than the Piton Gun used in Diamonds Are Forever. After Bond performs his impressive bungee jump off a Russian dam, he fires the piton gun that anchors him into the rock, to enable him to pull himself into the building below. Bond then uses the laser feature to burn a hole through the buildings vent that gets him access into the Arkangel chemical facility through the toilet block.

Code breaking device

Bond and Alec Trevelyan use this device in the Arkangel chemical facility. After placing this device on a combination lock it quickly runs through all the possible combinations to find the right combination in seconds.

Zoom camera with communications uplink

This smart miniature camera had a very large zoom range enabling Bond to take photos of Xenia Onatopp as she makes her way back towards the boat Manticore. Each photo is then sent via a communications link back to MI6 where they could be analysed and researched further.

Once back in his Aston Martin DB5, Bond prints out the photos he took along with descriptions and information about the photos after accessing a hidden panel in the dashboard. Bond also listens to frequency 87.50 to listen to a commentary from M and Moneypenny regarding the information in the photos, where Moneypenny advises Bond to stay “Onatopp of things”.

Goldeneye

These keys and card were needed to fire the Goldeneye satellites. Two people had to insert the keys in two slots at the same time. The card then had to be inserted into a slot in a computer. Once this had been done the satellite was now ready to be activated and armed. These were used by General Ourumov to activate and fire the first Goldeneye satellite at Severnaya. Alec Trevelyan and Boris Grishenko then activate the second satellite aimed at London, although the weapon never gets a chance to fire as it burns up in the atmosphere when Natalya changes its trajectory.

Gadgets in Q's lab

Amusingly whilst Q is briefing 007 about the Rappelling Belt one of Q's technicians enters a perfectly innocent BT phone box. When the technician picks up the handset and makes a call, a large airbag inflates from the back of the telephone box squashing the technician up against the glass. Q gets one step ahead of Bond when he tells him what his plane ticket says that is placed on a silver tray. Q tells Bond that the tray is actually a X-Ray document scanner.

Whilst Q is explaining to Bond about the fact that he would like these gadgets back in working order for a change, events are happening in the background. One of Q's technicians is seen sitting down on a seat, using a telephone. Whilst the technician is talking on the phone she starts to adjust the seat, however this triggers the ejector seat mechanism, thus sending her and the seat flying backwards. After the seat disappears off screen a second later sounds of broken glass are heard.

Explosive parker pen

Q provides Bond with this silver Parker pen that contains a four second fuse and was armed when the top was clicked three times. Bond arms the pen and then teasingly asks Q how long the fuse was. At the end of the film when Alec captures Bond, he watches Boris play with the grenade pen. After a tense sequence counting the number of clicks, Bond manages to throw the pen into a pool of flammable liquid causing a distraction giving him and Natalya enough time to escape.

Rappelling belt

Another gadget Q provides Bond with is this normal looking leather belt. Q demonstrates to Bond that this belt contained a length of ultra thin strong wire under the buckle. Bond fires the belts piton wire as he escapes the Russian archives swinging over his pursuers and through a glass window.

Laser Omega seamaster watch

Bond uses his multi-purpose Omega Seamaster throughout Goldeneye. Firstly, he uses its powerful laser built into the case to cut through the floor on Alec's Missile Train when he is trapped with Natalya. The other feature of the Seamaster was like in Tomorrow Never Dies; a button could be pressed to detonate a device controlled by the watch.

Remote operated mine

Bond attaches these mines to a number of barrels of flammable liquid in Alec's Cuban base. However Alec unwittingly de-activates the mines by pressing a button on Bonds Omega Seamaster watch.
