Miss Taro played by Zena Marshall is the fifth Villain of Dr. No. Bond is introduced to Miss Taro when he travels to Jamaica to investigate the disappearance of Strangways.

He first meets her when he visits Government House. Bond asks her for a tour around the island and invites her to his hotel.

007 catches on quickly that she is not all what she seems when she invites him up to her mountain apartment, and then is surprised to see him. This is due to her attempt to get ‘The Three Blind Mice’ to run him off the road on the journey up to the apartment. Bond gets the upper hand in the game of cat and mouse they play. Miss Taro tries to keep Bond occupied whilst Professor R. J. Dent travels to take care of him. Bond persuades her to eat out and orders a ‘car’ to take them to a restaurant. Miss Taro does not realise that the car is in fact a police car that takes her down to the station.

Character information

Miss Taro works as a secretary to Pleydell-Smith, the British foreign secretary in Jamaica. Miss Taro is another one of Dr. No agents however. Taking her orders from Professor Dent, she spies on files, conversations and top-secret information. Miss Taro then passes on this information to Dr. No.

Miss Taro does not attempt to kill Bond herself; she merely gets told what to do so that ‘The Three Blind Mice’ and Professor Dent can kill Bond. A job they fail. §
