Profile
Colonel Moon meets Bond along with his fellow henchmen Zao, in their base for a diamond exchange after Bond replaces the identity of Moon's original contact, Van Bierk.
During the exchange Zao receives information that the diamond smuggler is in fact British Secret Service and quietly notifies Moon of the information. After blowing up Bond's helicopter, he is about to be assassinated when General Moon radios to say he will be arriving shortly. Colonel Moon's hovercraft's are ordered to leave as Moon tells his men the General cannot see them in his base.
Bond manages to escape by using his Omega watch to detonate an explosive charge sending diamonds flying, permanently scarring Zao. Bond commandeers a hovercraft and makes pursuit of Colonel Moon. After severely damaging or destroying most of the hovercraft's involved in the following chase, Bond and Moon are left fighting on the last one. Moon is presumed dead when the speeding hovercraft falls over a large waterfall, with Bond barely managing to escape in time.
About
In a hope that a Western education will help bridge the gap between their two worlds, General Moon sends his son, Colonel Moon, to study at Oxford and Harvard. General Moon much later tells Bond that his plan has backfired, since his son has become corrupted by the ideas and greed of the West.
A dealer in hi-tech weaponry, Moon conducts various illicit operations in diamond smuggling to fund his private army and ambitions to forcibly unite North and South Korea.
A ruthless man, Moon is seen kicking and vigorously attacking a punch bag revealing one of his own men inside when the bag is unzipped, telling his men to get him another anger therapist.
Moon's unique feature however is the recreation of himself in the guise of Sir Gustav Graves. After being presumed dead, Moon undergoes a painful gene-replacement therapy replacing his DNA allowing him to take on the physical appearance of the new character Gustav Graves. §
