Mr Osato played by Teru Shimada is the first villain of You Only Live Twice. Chairman of Osato Chemicals and Engineering, Mr Osato is actually a member of SPECTRE. After replacing the man who killed Dikko Henderson, Bond is taken to Osato’s headquarters where after breaking into his safe learns of his ties to SPECTRE.
In charge of providing liquid oxygen to power Ernst Stavro Blofeld’s spaceship, Bond decides to investigate further. When the wealthy industrialist learns of Bonds plans, he is ordered to kill him. After passing the responsibility to Helga Brandt, and several failures later, Blofeld personally eliminates him at the end of the film.

Mr Osato is a respected, distinguished wealthy industrialist working for SPECTRE. It is Mr Osato’s secretary, Helga Brandt that carries out all of Mr Osato’s ‘dirty work’ like a typical villain. A ruthless man, Osato misses his opportunity to kill 007 on several occasions and is eliminated by Blofeld to demonstrate the price of failure to Bond. §
