During the terrorist arms bazaar in the pre-title sequence, Gupta is identified by MI6 watching back at base for having possession of a stolen GPS Encoder.
Later, Gupta plays back a piece of film for Elliot Carver showing his wife, Paris Carver, talking with Bond. After tapping in to what they are saying, Carver orders Dr Kaufman to pay her a visit.
Gupta is later seen in a number of scenes throughout the film organising Carver's little war. At the climax of the film, Bond holds Gupta hostage whilst Carver holds Wai Lin. When Gupta tells Carver that everything is set, Carver tells him his usefulness has ended and coldly shoots him dead.

A well-known pioneer of techno-terrorism, Henry Gupta is in charge of the technical details associated with starting Carver's war. A cold and serious person Gupta seems to enjoy his line of work, although has little to say in the film. §
