Vargas played by Philip Locke is the seventh villain of Thunderball. Emilio Largo’s right-hand man, Vargas says about one line throughout Thunderball. A deadly assassin who thoroughly enjoys his daily job of kidnapping, murdering and torturing so much so that even Largo dislikes.
Largo makes a comment to Bond when he visits Palmyra that the mysterious dark clothed Vargas only likes one thing. Vargas meets a nasty end when he silently approaches Dominique Derval and Bond lying on a beach, armed ready to kill. Domino calmly comments “Vargas is behind you” where Bond slowly but smoothly picks up his spear gun and impales Vargas on a tree.
