The key in SPECTRE’s plan to hijack a Vulcan bomber containing two nuclear bombs, Angelo Palazzi spends two years undergoing various operations and training to become an identical twin to NATO pilot Major Francois Derval.
The mission is successful killing Derval, his crew aboard the Vulcan and delivering the Vulcan safely to Largo. However, Palazzi struggles to release himself from the Vulcan’s seat belts when it is submerged underwater. Due to his attempt to blackmail Blofeld for more money he is left to drown underwater when Largo cuts his air hose.

After Fiona Volpe gives Palazzi a packet containing his payment, he demands that he be paid more, stating that all the operations, training and preparation that he has undertook commands more money. This greedy remark is of course ultimately what kills him – he is obviously not aware that nobody crosses Blofeld without severe – usually fatal consequences. §
