Dr. No played by Joseph Wiseman is the main villain of Dr. No. Surprisingly, Dr. No is only seen very late in the film. After Dr. No takes Bond and Honey Ryder captive, he invites them to have dinner with him.
Ironically Dr. No performs excellently as a host, offering Bond and Honey excellent food and Dom Pérignon champagne whilst describing his unusual childhood.
Later Bond discovers that Dr. No is running an atomically powered complex to topple American missiles. Bond replaces the post of one of Dr. No's men on the gantry above the reactor. As Dr. No is about to sabotage another missile, Bond puts the reactor into overdrive causing it to overheat. Dr. No fights with Bond on top of a lift descending into boiling hot, radioactive water. Bond manages to escape up the metal framework leaving Dr. No to descend to his death, unable to climb the greasy framework with his metal hands.

Dr. No is half German, half Chinese who worked as the treasurer for The Tongs, the infamous Chinese organised crime syndicate. After stealing $10 million, Dr. No constructed his atomically powered complex on Crab Key, a small island near Jamaica, with a disguise of being a bauxite mine. A scientific genius, the east and west both refused Dr. No's offer of skills and so to get revenge now works for SPECTRE (Special Executive for Counter-Intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion).
Dr. No's success at using atomic power comes at the cost of losing both of his hands. While his hands have been replaced with metal ones capable of crushing stone, it's because his metal hands cannot grip the descending lift framework that he dies in boiling hot radioactive water. §
