Peter Franks played by Joe Robinson is the fourth villain of Diamonds Are Forever. Peter Franks is a diamond smuggler hired by Tiffany Case to smuggle the stolen diamonds from Holland into America.

However as Franks is leaving the country he is told to report to passport control office where Bond does a switch and takes his place. Bond travels to meet Tiffany Case and convinces her that he is Peter Franks. When Bond hears from Q that Franks has escaped, he makes sure that Franks cannot contact Tiffany Case. The following fight scene between Bond and Franks in the small lift is expertly shot, with shades of the fight between Bond and Donald ‘Red’ Grant in From Russia With Love. Bond manages to kill Franks convincing Tiffany that he has just killed James Bond!
