Profile
Accompanied by Grunther, Irma Bunt meets Bond, in his guise as Sir Hillary Bray, at the train station in Switzerland where he is transported to Piz Gloria by helicopter.
Upon arrival, she introduces Bond to all the clinics female patients, where he wastes no time in investigating further later that night. However, Irma Bunt quickly catches on that all is not right with Sir Hillary Bray, and stages a successful ambush catching Bond unaware in Ruby Bartlett's quarters.
After Bond later escapes Piz Gloria, Irma and Grunther make pursuit. Luckily Tracy comes to the rescue, and with the help of her Ford Cougar, and a multi-car stock race, they are able to escape. At the end of the film Irma Bunt escapes the battle and consequent destruction of Piz Gloria unseen, but returns at the climax of the film. Whilst Bond and Tracy are enjoying a moment by the side of the road, Irma and Blofeld drive past killing Bond's new wife in a drive-by shooting.
About
Irma Bunt, henchwoman to Ernst Stavro Blofeld, has an imposing presence. This short nearly emotionless woman looks after the 'Angels of Death' at Piz Gloria. Never far from Blofelds side, Bunt is a serious woman who is definitely not to be messed with. While not seen in the battle at Piz Gloria near the end of the film, it is Irma Bunt who kills Bond's wife using her machine gun leaving an indelible mark on Bonds life. §
