Nick Nack (Hervé Villechaize)
Nick Nack played by Hervé Villechaize
Born in Paris, France on 23rd April 1943
Died 4th September 1993
Starred In The Man With The Golden Gun (1974)
Nick Nack first appears in the pre-title sequence. To keep his boss on top form (and steal his island!) Nick Nack arranges various mafia/assassin types to try and kill Francisco Scaramanga.
Nick Nack is seen in a number of later scenes including recovering the solex agitator, and is in charge of the murder of Bond at Hai Fat's residence. Bond's life is spared when Hai Fat orders that he not be killed on his property but send to 'school', Hai Fat's Kung Fu school.
Re-appearing at the end of the film, Nick Nack takes charge of the duel between Scaramanga and Bond, and the operation of the funhouse. After his boss is killed and Scaramanga's island explodes around him, he stows away on Scaramanga's Junk, and makes one final attempt to kill Bond. In an amusing, but cringe-worthy sequence, Bond manages to get the upper hand over Nick Nack securing him in a case. He then proceeds to put him in a cage attached to one of the junks yardarms.
A rather small Nick Nack serves many purposes to meet the needs of Francisco Scaramanga. Personal assistant, chef, servant, assassin and many other roles, the unlikely Nick Nack and Scaramanga make a good team. A truly interesting character, Nick Nack is excellently played by Hervé Villechaize with just the right comic balance. §
