At the start of the film Killifer visits Felix Leiter on his wedding day to express his congratulations for the happy couple. However his loyalty to his so-called friend doesn't last that long.
After the capture of Franz Sanchez, Killifer is pleased that Sanchez will be going down for a long time. When he offers any one who helps him escape two million dollars, Killifer initially throws the offer back in Sanchez's face. It's not long though before he changes his mind when he arranges Sanchez's escape.
Killifer does nothing to help his 'old buddy' Felix as he gets ready to be lowered into the shark pool. He coldly tells him that two million dollars is a lot of money, and it's nothing personal. Justice for once prevails later when Bond aptly feeds Killifer to the same shark that ravaged Felix.
Starting as an honest man, Ed Killifer soon becomes bought by Sanchez when he shows Killifer large dollar signs. Loyal to his word, Sanchez gives Killifer a very heavy suitcase containing two million dollars in cash. Killifer attempts to make a deal with Bond for his life when he finds himself in a comprising position. Greedy to the last, Killifer tries to grab the suitcase when Bond throws it at him, causing him to fall into the shark pool below. §
