Due to these complications the posters of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service tended to concentrate on the character of Bond and his Girls rather than the fact that George Lazenby was the new Bond. The US and UK posters took on the same design featuring excellent artwork provided by Robert McGinnis and Frank McCarthy. While the US 1-Sheet cropped McCarthy’s artwork, The UK Quad faired much better featuring all of the artwork due to its landscape format.
Due to George Lazenby’s announcement that he would only do one film, an alternative US 1-Sheet was produced showing a picture of the new James Bond in the shadows with the face blanked out.
International designs varied with some countries taking on a similar design to the US and UK posters with various changes. However a number of countries produced completely original artwork. §
