The For Your Eyes Only teaser poster featured a image of Bond drawing his gun on a female figure with a crossbow. This image caused contraversy in many places in regard to the amount of naked female flesh on display.
The final US 1-Sheet poster featured practically the same image as the teaser poster. Certain states in America painted a larger pair of shorts on the female figure in order not to upset patrons. The UK Quad also used the image of the female crossbow figure designed and painted by Bill Gold but also added artwork around the central image of scenes from the film.
International versions of the For Your Eyes Only poster generally used the female crossbow figure design but on most posters the artwork was also added, but this changed from country to country. §
