Traditionally, when a new Bond is introduced the teaser posters rarely feature Bond himself, or in the case of Goldeneye, an extreme close-up of Pierce Brosnan's eye. This is not the case with the 1-sheet of Casino Royale. The US 1-sheet matches the eerie ambiance of the official website and teaser trailer with Daniel Craig sitting at a casino table wearing a tuxedo, barely emerging out of the shadows. With a look fitting to the style of the poster, Craig looks to the side while his hands are poised on his gun whilst he is surrounded by casino chips.
There is a lot more variety in the final release posters however. The main focus of these posters is a weary, 'let-loose' appearance of Bond with different background elements. Some posters feature the now familiar style of this main image surrounded by images from the film blended into the background, in this instance a gunbarrel. The UK (and US?) 'Regular' poster features the main image of Bond once again, but this time coming down the steps of Casino Royale, with an elegant Vesper Lynd looking on in the background. Another version of the main Bond image comes with a white 'silky' background with images of the film appearing in the silhouette of a Bond girl, probably Vesper Lynd once again. Many other posters from around the world feature a dark side-on view on Bond and his gun, Bond sitting down on a chair with grey background, a blood splattered shirt and bow-tie and a few designs using props from the casino.
