Paula Caplan is first seen when Bond visits Nassau to meet Dominique Derval.

Whilst reading magazines in her hotel room waiting for Bond, Fiona Volpe arrives and the henchmen of Emilio Largo take her captive. Bond makes an attempt to rescue Paula, but when he gets there she has already committed suicide by taking cyanide.

Paula Caplan is an attractive local contact who helps Bond with his investigations. Unusually, there is no element of the two being lovers, although they could of been a possibility if she had lived longer as she seems to have an interest in Bond.

Martine Beswicke also played the part of Zora in From Russia With Love one year earlier.

She enjoyed playing her role of Paula Caplan, especially when director Terence Young » told her to sunbathe more so she would look more the part of an islander! §
