Dominique Derval or "Domino" as her friends know her is Emilio Largo's mistress. Domino is first seen when Bond travels to Nassau to see if he can find out any information about her brother, Major Francois Derval.

After making contact, Bond invites Domino to lunch.

Domino is later seen when Bond visits a casino where he meets Largo accompanied by Domino. After winning, and a brief dance with Domino Bond is invited to Largo's private estate for dinner.

After attending the Junkanoo with Bond, Domino is later seen when they meet underwater wearing scuba gear for some lovemaking, Bahamas style. Bond tells Domino to check the Disco Volante for the bombs but gets caught by Largo.

Domino is last seen at the end of Thunderball when she shoots Largo in the back. "I'm glad I killed him,” she tells Bond, "Your glad!" replies Bond relieved.

Rather than refer to Largo as her partner or lover, Domino refers to Largo as her guardian, as that's what he was. Largo always kept an eye on Domino to see what she was doing and whom she was with. While she lived in luxury with riches all around her, she lived a life of being trapped in an invisible prison.

Domino for the most part conveys sadness for her indulgent but love-starved life with Largo. It is when Bond tells her about the death of her brother, caused by Largo she decides to turn against Largo and help Bond. However when Largo catches her he tortures her very slowly and painfully. Domino avenges the death of her brother when she kills her captor, Largo.

Claudine Auger was Miss France winner in 1958. Like Honey Ryder in Dr. No, Monica van der Syl > dubbed Claudine Auger's voice. Domino and Bond feature in a scene that was partially cut from the film when they meet underwater wearing their scuba gear. The film shows them hiding behind some rocks as lots of large bubbles stream to the surface. This scene originally featured Domino's bikini floating to the surface, but this was deemed too suggestive. §
