Profile

Miss Goodnight appears to assist Bond when he is following Andrea Anders in Hong Kong.

After Goodnight shows Bond where Miss Anders is staying, she hopes to spend the evening with Bond, but 007 declines, as he has a meeting with Hai Fat. Goodnight is shunned again later in the film when she is embarrassingly pushed into the wardrobe of Bond's hotel room, when Miss Anders enters his bedroom.

When Bond later manages to arrange the handover of the Solex Agitator with Miss Anders, Goodnight takes control. However she gets pushed into the boot of Scaramanga's car whilst she places a homing device.

With the Solex in Goodnight's handbag, Bond tracks her to Scaramanga's private island. Left to her own devices, Goodnight decides to knock the maintenance man out, pushing him into a vat of liquid helium. This causes a chain reaction and after killing Scaramanga, Bond and Goodnight leave on his junk. After dealing with Nick Nack, Goodnight manages to finish what she started with Bond on a slow boat back from China.

About

Britt Ekland doesn't really get to show off her acting ability by portraying the character of Miss Goodnight. Goodnight is quite a bungling character that is quite clumsy. She is under instructions from M to provide Bond with any assistance she can. In reality she provides little assistance to Bond with some scenes being more a hindrance than a help. §
