During dinner Bond gives a rather monotonous talk about genealogy. When Ruby is told not to mention her room number by Irma Bunt, she proceeds to write it on the inside of Bonds leg using her lipstick.
Later that evening Bond ventures into Ruby's room. They are interrupted however when the voice of Blofeld turns Ruby into a trance-like state. Bond arranges to meet Ruby the next evening, but when he walks over to the bed in Ruby's room a waiting Irma Bunt knocks him out.
Ruby Bartlett along with the other girls in Blofeld's clinic think they are there on the pretence to cure their various food allergies. However as Bond discovers, Blofeld plans to use the girls as 'Angels of Death'; the delivery method to release the powerful Omega Virus that would destroy entire species of crops throughout the world. While Ruby's allergies of chickens is cured, Bond watches as she, like the other girls, receive instructions from Blofeld about their true purpose through hypnosis. §
