On the day of her wedding to Felix Leiter, Della has to endure waiting for Felix and Bond as they take a detour to catch Franz Sanchez. They do however make a spectacular entrance parachuting from their helicopter landing at the entrance to the church.
At the end of the wedding reception Della and Felix present Bond with an engraved cigarette lighter that saves Bonds life at the end of the film. Sadly after Bond leaves, Dario kills Della after Sanchez gains entry to Leiters house, although thankfully her death is not seen.
About
Della is the humorous, friendly wife of Felix Leiter. During the wedding scenes it appears that her father doesn't approve of the marriage, basically telling her 'I told you so' when Sharkey tells them about the delay.
After the wedding reception she tells Bond that it's his turn to get married next and is puzzled by the saddened reaction she receives. Felix tells her that he was married, but this was a long time ago, a fitting tribute to Bond late wife Teresa Di Vicenzo. §
