Della Churchill played by Priscilla Barnes is the second ally of Licence To Kill. On that day of her wedding to Felix Leiter she has to endure the wait of Felix and James Bond taking a detour to catch Sanchez.

However they do make a spectacular entrance parachuting from their helicopter landing at the entrance to the church. At the end of the wedding reception Della and Felix present Bond with an engraved cigarette lighter that saves Bonds life at the end of the film, where he uses it to set a petrol-soaked Franz Sanchez alight. Sadly Dario kills Della after Sanchez gains entry to Leiters house, although thankfully her death is not seen.

Character information

Della is the humorous, friendly wife of Felix Leiter. After the wedding reception she tells Bond that it’s his turn to get married next and is puzzled by the saddened reaction she receives. Felix tells her that he was married, but this was a long time ago, a fitting tribute to Bond late wife Teresa Di Vicenzo. §
