Felix Leiter played by Norman Burton is the second ally of Diamonds Are Forever. After flying into the US from Amsterdam, Bond meets Felix in customs where he pretends to examine the body of Peter Franks.
Featuring in a number of other short scenes, Leiter merely provides Bond updates on the current situation and checks everything is ok. Felix accompanies Bond to rescue Willard Whyte near the end of the film, and accompanies them on the attack of Blofelds oilrig.

The portrayal of Felix Leiter by Norman Burton is perhaps the least effective of the series. While not comical, Leiter delivers some bad one-liners, plays the role too seriously and too formally. Gone are the scenes with on-screen chemistry between Bond and Leiter; in are scenes that are strictly practical and uninteresting. §
