General Moon played by Kenneth Tsang is the first ally of Die Another Day. Colonel Moon is forced to evacuate his Hovercrafts when he hears his father General Moon is en-route.

Thinking his son is dead, General Moon arrests Bond who is tortured for over fourteen months in an attempt to find out who his co-conspirators are. After agreeing to trade Bond for Zao, Moon is taken hostage by Gustav Graves. In effort to impress his father and other generals, Graves lets them watch his demonstration of Icarus and the onslaught into South Korea. General Moon is not impressed and is killed in the process of trying to stop his corrupt son.

Even though General Moon is behind Bonds imprisonment, Moon is still an ally to Bond. Father to Colonel Moon, the general has visions of uniting North and South Korea by peaceful methods, and disapproves of his son’s aggressive military tactics. General Moon tells Bond that his plan to educate his son in the West as a bridge between their two worlds has backfired, when Colonel Moon becomes corrupted by the ideas and greed of the West. General Moon makes a final attempt to stop his son’s aggression, now in the guise of Gustav Graves, but is murdered by him in the process. §
