Luigi Ferrara (John Moreno)
Luigi Ferrara played by John Moreno
Starred In For Your Eyes Only (1981)
After arriving in Cortina, Bond makes contact with Luigi Ferrara. He informs Bond about the various activities Emile Leopold Locque has been up to, and tells Bond that he has a very reliable Greek contact that can shed more light on matters. After introducing Bond to Aristotle Kristatos, Ferrara's 'reliable' contact, Bond learns about Milos Columbo.
Bond later meets with Bibi Dahl at an ice rink to inform her that he is leaving Cortina. As he leaves the ice ring a number of hockey players appear and try to kill him. Bond escapes, but when he reaches his Lotus Esprit Turbo he discovers that a waiting Luigi has been strangled.
Serving as Bonds contact in Northern Italy, Ferrara doesn't seem up to the job. He embarrassingly praises Kristatos as one of his most reliable contacts, while all the time Kristatos is the main villain of the film. Luigi has a tendency to ramble on, and on a number of occasions Bond is clearly frustrated when Ferrara doesn't reach the point. While telling Bond information about Locque, Ferrara unnecessarily moves around, paranoid that someone is listening to the conversation.
Bond is saddened by Ferrara's death which he feels was completely unnecessary. Much later in the film, he takes a moment to give Locque the pin he left with Ferrara, before coldly and very purposefully giving his car a good kick off the cliff. §
