Achille Aubergine played by Jean Rougerie is the second ally of A View To A Kill. After a meeting is set up, Bond meets Aubergine at a restaurant atop the Eiffel Tower.

Aubergine informs Bond that Zorin is having his annual horse sales very shortly, although before he can tell Bond any useful information, he is killed by May Day.

This stereotypical French detective is hired by the British Government to investigate the horse racing activities of Max Zorin. A seemingly comical character, Aubergine seems rather taken with the ‘butterfly show’, alas not knowing that his death would shortly be caused by one. Due to his limited on screen time, little else is learnt about the character. §
