Profile

On route to Felix Leiter's wedding, Hawkins and a colleague at the DEA stop Felix and Bond to inform them about the possibility of catching Franz Sanchez. While their initial response to catch Sanchez fails, Bond and Felix succeed after 'going fishing'. Hawkins later informs Bond that he should forget about the Leiter investigation, and formally escorts him into the Hemmingway house to confront M.

About

Hawkins is a contact for Felix Leiter at the DEA. In the pre-title sequence Hawkins seems a friendly enough character, but he becomes more serious later in the film. Hawkins becomes worried that Bond is taking what happened to Felix Leiter too personally, and warns him about turning it into a personal vendetta. He tells Bond that he is in over his head and this is "the end of the line", showing Bond into the Hemmingway house where M is waiting. §
