Film information

Felix Leiter played by Cec Linder is the first ally of Goldfinger. After the pre-credit sequence Felix Leiter travels to Bonds hotel in Miami, where he finds him getting a massage from Dink.

Leiter tells Bond about Auric Goldfinger and when Bond asks where he is, Leiter points him out just emerging from the hotel for his daily card game.

Felix Leiter is seen a couple of times throughout the film checking on Bonds progress and making sure he does not require his help. Towards the end of the film, Leiter and his colleagues at the CIA play a crucial role in the attack on Fort Knox, and it is one of his colleagues that stops the atomic bomb with only seven seconds to spare.

Character information

The portrayal of Felix Leiter by Cec Linder is of a more comical nature than that played by Jack Lord. While there appears to be a bigger age gap between the two agents, there is still the sense of friendship. Felix Leiter appears in more scenes in Goldfinger than Dr No, although Linder’s Leiter appears to be less informed. §
